 DISCONTOOLS Completes Diseases Analysis
Brussels, 15 November 2023 – All 52 diseases under consideration in the DISCONTOOLS project have now been successfully analysed and prioritised for research purposes. This completion of the gap analysis and prioritisation work was one topic for discussion at today’s conference titled ‘Fighting Animal Diseases – Identifying Research Priorities’ along with the burning question of ‘Where do we go from here?’.

 IFAH-Europe Welcomes Second ESVAC Report
Brussels, 16 October 2023 - IFAH-Europe welcomes the second ESVAC report and supports the principle of collecting data as a means of informing decision making. The federation noted the limitations of the first ESVAC report came out in terms of species and dose-related issues between antibiotics. However, the ESVAC initiative shows trends within countries over time which may be of considerable value.

 Better Regulation Efforts Welcomed but Industry Calls for More Harmonisation to Boost Innovation
Brussels, 7 September 2023 – Europe accounts for approximately one third of global sales for the animal health industry but EU regulatory processes are reported as leading European companies to invest less in innovation for new veterinary medicines, which could not only negatively impact the industry but also public and animal health.

 IFAH-Europe believes EU innovation in animal health is key to averting future food and health crises
Brussels, 21 June 2023 – Europe benefits from the highest animal health standards in the world. Such was the consensus among stakeholders working in food safety, food supply and animal health at the annual conference of the International Federation of Animal Health in Europe (IFAHEurope). The event, which attracted a 150 strong audience to the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel in Brussels, explored the role and contribution of animal health to Europe’s food safety.
