  • IFAH-Europe welcomes EU Commission proposal for revised legislation for veterinary medicines and medicated feed

    IFAH-Europe welcomes release of Commission's proposals package for revised legislation for veterinary medicines and medicated feed.

    Brussels, 10 September 2023 – Today the European Commission published its proposed package for revised legislation for veterinary medicines and medicated feed. It will follow the ordinary legislative procedure whereby a final text must be negotiated and agreed on by the European Parliament and the European Council. IFAH-Europe, the federation representing the manufacturers of veterinary medicines and medicated feed premixes, welcomes this release of the legislative texts, and firmly supports the Commission’s aim of improving the availability of veterinary medicines throughout Europe.

  • IFAH-Europe Calls for Better Regulation for Veterinary Medicines: A European Marketing Authorisation is Essential for Animal Health
    Brussels, 19 June 2023 -

    At its annual conference entitled, “Better regulation for veterinary medicines: Road to a European marketing authorisation”, IFAH-Europe called on decision-makers to complete the journey to a true single market and develop one single EU-wide marketing authorisation process for veterinary medicines. With the decision-making process on the future veterinary medicines legislation starting later this year, the animal health industry asks if Europe’s animals, farmers, vets and pet owners should have to wait any more decades to see pan-European availability of authorised veterinary medicines.

  • New Project Manager for DISCONTOOLS

    We are delighted to announce that Dr. Johannes Charlier has accepted the position as the Project Manager for DISCONTOOLS. Johannes is a veterinarian and a post-doctoral researcher and lecturer in Ghent University and will join DISCONTOOLS on a part-time basis.
